Gaijin decided to flatten the rear section of the turret that would have given clearance for the stingers, you can see clearly in the photo the rear of the turret tapers down towards the centre at an angle, unfortunately i can’t find any other reference photos. But in game they’ve just drawn a straight line across the rear. This is why the stingers are clipping into the model, the nerf to its elevation is through a modelling error not an error in the brochure
Here it is in game.
And here was the report, unfortunately due to it being such a rare vehicle irl i am struggling to find more reference photos, but you can CLEARLY see that the one provided that the turret isn’t just a single flat plate at the rear causing clipping with the weapon systems. If you compare the position of the glass to the lowest point on the back of the turret, youll see that on the irl image it comes almost down to the bottom of the glass. In game it seems to go to near the top of it. Would this be an angle issue perhaps, or is the angle of the roof not as much as it should be? This is just me eye balling it btw.
Never mind, just checked myself. seems to line up the same it was just dependant on the angle…
Yeah old photos, shadows and camo make it difficult to judge until you overlay the images. It for sure can raise the gun to 65 degrees, but not with stingers loaded.
Makes me wonder if the stinger mount slides forward to allow for the elevation, seems strange to advertise something and not specify with or without the missile system, ive seen blazer systems advertised with 80° without any missiles.
From the other images I review, it does seem to be pretty fixed to the top of the gun. Suppose it was still a prototype vehicle, maybe some elements needed more finalization than others.
It’s stated 65° personally I’d just make the mount slide forward to giving it it’s stated 65°, it’s the only other way it’d make sense… But gaijin will no doubt stick with the elevation nerf.
Then it would look incorrect from the front. As the edges of the module clearly line up with specific sections of the gun. I’d say its “more” correct in its current form even if its a little sad missing that extra 10 degrees.
I just meant the box ontop holding the two stingers would mechanically roll/slide forward during the final 15° of elevation, it’s position would only ever change once it started to reach the extent of its maximum elevation.
