British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

The Harrier T.10 has a nice kit available at 11.3 and I’m working on low level attacks with RET bombs as well.

I also thought bumping the GR1’s battle rating up to 11.7 and giving it two or three ALARM missiles would have been a decent change. Instead, they opted for the AS37. Wide-band anti-radiation missiles like the ALARM are genuinely good, but even if we raise its BR to 11.7 and only let it carry ALARM in its PGM hardpoints, it wouldn’t be overpowered. The Su-39 and Italian Tornado both have solid anti-radiation ordnance at 11.7 as well.

they should just BR restrict it like the Kh-31 on the MiG-27s

Why AH MK.2 equipped with MAW will caused the thing like RWR changed?

if without MAW it goes back normal

Something must go wrong , Right?

Appears to be a bug yes.

Another thing to add to the bottom of the pile

The Hawk T.1A currently seems to be overweight, however, gaijin dont accept empty weight reports as far as I can tell (I found out after making this)

Does anyone know the best way to attempt to get the weight corrected?

The issue comes with how empty weight figures are displayed for us to see

If you have Empty weight, and maximum fuel weight, (and oil weight + Pilot if the empty weight doesnt state such is present)

you can report maximum weight from that, (possibly alongside a Fuel mass report too), which if the oil and fuel is correct, would NEED a empty weight change

E.G take A-7E, (information taken from NAVAIR 01-45AAE-1, March 1973)

17,569lb empty, 10,172.8lb max internal fuel (JP-5), along with a pilot (assume 70kg/154lb), and 3.53 US Gal of Oil (Est. 25lb)

Meaning a Maximum clean weight (No cannon ammo and likely no CMs) of 27,921lb, or 12,662kg . Wheras in game it’s 13,646kg in weight at that loading

image

This is all aside from marginally wrong fuel mass, which is 4613.5kg (JP-5) / 4409kg (JP-4) and from the manual and being 4552kg in game.
image

the spoiler shows the A-7E is around 1 tonne too heavy, and Iirc it can be reported this way (and i’ll likely do this later)

Of course I may be wrong, but this is my current understanding on how you can possibly report empty masses in game (albeit indirectly)

Based on your visible source on your report
image

3813.9kg + 4kg + 1250kg + 80.15 kg+ 103.15kg

means a Gunless Hawk should be 5251.5kg at full load (as we do not have smoke pods)

currently in game its mass is 5644kg

while the mass of fuel in game is slightly too high, being 1272kg in game, when it should be 1250kg as per your source

Therefore based on this the aircraft must be around 187kg too heavy WITH crew onboard

which is similar to what you had found originally, though 20kg difference

this doesnt include the fuel mass difference, just the empty mass, the with the fuel also 22kg too heavy based on that source

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

That source also states a Maximum Take-off Weight of 5700 kg, if it matters.

The source I used is referring to one specific Hawk T.1A (XX204) as this is from an incident report regarding its crash. I’m a bit concerned that gaijin may ask for generic values for the aircraft, rather than for one aircraft. Do you know if this could be an issue?

Based on what you said I may make a full mass report regardless, that seems like a better idea than my current one.

I also found some other material regarding empty weights for the Hawk T.1 (Likely applicable to the T.1A) but these are a lot more vauge.

That’d just be the maximum mass it could take off with, it’s not relevant here

as long as its an unremarkable T.1A then it should be fine

Also I’d avoid using the word “Empty weight” where possible in the report, as it might get it denied before its read properly

you’d want to frame it around maximum clean mass and let the devs take it from there is what i’d believe is the best way to go about it

I did some quick research and it seems it wasn’t modified at all, apart from some very minor cockpit navigation equipment changes, so it should be ok.

Got it, I think there’s enough info in that report to get a reasonably solid report done. I’ll see if I can get it done in the next few days, cheers!

Yes, this is where i got that method from

Just wanted to check something here again.

5251.5kg is the mass with crew + full fuel according to the document.

5644kg is the mass ingame, presumably also with the crew and full fuel.

This gives a 392.5kg difference, for both with crew and full fuel.

If the ingame total mass excluded the crew, adding their mass would make this difference even later.

I was just wondering where the 187kg difference came from, its quite late and my brain may not be working properly, I just wanted to clarify.

image

Those are the Hawk T.1A datamined masses too, if they are important.

correct

correct

I had just messed up those numbers, i removed the crew’s weight from the difference, but this was wrong

I also subtracted the too heavy fuel mass (22kg), from the empty weight difference, which would be correct to do (for the pure empty mass change)

the 392.5kg would be the difference in the maximum loaded weight (what you’d report with)

with 370.5kg being the error in the empty mass it would appear

To note

It should be noted some of that mass isn’t impossible for it to be hydraulic fluid or engine oil

Ah ok, cheers for clarifying. That’s quite a significant change in mass then, especially for such a small vehicle.

Final question I promise haha, looking at the datamines the total mass ingame appears to be:

Empty (4204) + Fuel (1272) + oil (11) = 5487kg

image

Am i missing something or is 5644kg listed elsewhere? Are the crew masses not listed here?

I’ve made the report based on the datamined masses, I can always change it if needed.
