The C701 and C704 have been validated; moreover, the C704 is already modeled. But since it’s not Russian equipment, the Chinese missiles will arrive in 10 years…
Personally, I’d rather have a KD 88 that does man-in-the-loop (a new mechanic that Gaijin could implement) than a KH 38
No real reason, other than no solid data on things like propulsion specifications, but that can be guestimated since I am pretty sure some missiles are using guessed values already, but I could be wrong.
Like the CM-704KG is quite literally a SAP Maverick, with IOG I guess. Similar range, similar speed, not very crazy. The KD-88 that is also modelled already is like the Kh-59 I guess, a long range cruise missile except this one does have an IIR version, which may be pretty nice.
There’s considerably more out there, but these two are the only ones modelled (jet deployed) A2G missiles so far I think. What’s worse is that I don’t even think these are carried in very high number at all, maybe like 4x, so it just kinda sucks that Gaijin is holding off so long adding them. At least we got a large number of IIR bombs, but still.
There’s no reason why the C-701 shouldn’t be a small AGM with a 29 kg payload, so its explosive charge should be smaller. The C-704 is the same, and in terms of effectiveness, it will be: C-701 < AGM-65 = C-704 < KH-29
We could have already had the C-701 on the J10A, but it’s not Russian equipment, so it’s not a priority
It’s 2026 and the Chinese nation still doesn’t have a national AGM !!!
It’s like the story with the LS-6 250 IR. How long did we wait for a glide bomb with an IR seeker when other nations already had this kind of bomb 6 or 8 months earlier? It’s the same with Chinese AGMs. I find that Gaijin really isn’t making any effort to add weaponry that isn’t necessarily stronger than others, but just equivalent :/
Gaijin could do it, and controlling those missiles isn’t complicated: make sure that the anti-aircraft defense bots have the ability to detect and destroy large AGMs, or even that certain ships with radar could defend themselves against anti-ship missiles.
But hey, we have to wait 4 months for the next big update to get yet another new F18, copy-pasted F16 and Su30 parts everywhere, that’s really what all the players want!!!
Frankly, the J-10C, with its radar bugs fixed, had performance commensurate with its BR. It seems like the J-10C mysteriously received bug fixes later than other aircraft, leading to a decline in its performance compared to others. If it then received the PL-12A and WS-10B, it feels like a setup, or “match pumping.” It looks a bit manipulative.
I am certainly looking forward to the new missile and the new engine. However, the PL-12 is already a sufficiently powerful missile, and I question whether there was truly a need to update the PL-12 to the 12A.
