So have a feeling that gaijin not even gonna fix slm and will leave it in its broken state… i had teammate in pansir alongside me and he did more air kills than me… when most of my rockets started to lock on enemy missiles… Its also hard to see people that don’t know how to abuse this bug.
That bug is not just on SLM, but to all ground base radars… even the Patsir radar gets “distracted” by this
Good thing it can be reported, although i don’t think gaijin will do anything about it.
But yeah considering the current MP, having IR missile + DL like IRIS-T is more meta. Remains to be seen if it stays that way in the future

There isnt much they can do kinetically(without proof of the motor weight), and it seems all the new missiles have the same crappy seekers so.
I dont know what people talk when they say it cant intercept munition when i shot 2 missiles at it and 4 bombs and it intercepted it all of them in a row, not a single time enemy iris-t failed to intercept my weapons
stuff like yesterday:
spawned in iris-t slm, jet fires a boat load of mavericks, launch at the mavericks and miss… every… single … one…
respawn flarakrad, more mavericks, intercept almost all of them (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

Will Iris missiles re-target ordnance when you folder all ordnance away and just get enemy planes shown?

yes the missile does not care for your filters neither does the radar or the DL
So best play for slm right now is spam and pray and hope

you can make it only show planes and helis but for a split second you can see it switch to “rocket”
the radar in general is very unpredictable…

plus it suffers from the same delusions as the Elde98 radar where it thinks that every enemy SAM is flying towards it.

They really need to fix this random lock issue.
I refuse to believe that this system gives the operator almost zero control of what is locked and what target is beeing engaged.
Also, when you see footage from Iris T control trucks, there a several screens including cam views. Dunno how realistic it is, but ingame we have nothing like this.
