Smoke reduced motor is just a death sentence to any aircraft. IRIS-T is already incredibly strong and borderline overpowered. Anyone who doesn’t have long range FnF missiles cannot get near it.
I have had an IRIS-T battery focus me with 10+ missiles…
I do think now everyone one has (excluding Sweden) a powerful SAM we need to look at Radiation missiles.
Excluding Kh-38 slingers which it always suffers against it clowns on every other CAS platform.
Brimstone good luck getting within range to launch (I haven’t managed it yet) purely due to the volume of missiles launched by a singular IRIS-T system.
AGM-65 it’s slow easy to shoot down, glide bombs…Maybe if you aren’t paying attention.
That’s fixed wing CAS covered.
The outliers are Kh-38 and AASM.
Now helicopters is a different story namely Russian helis with DIRCM and just spam the spawns with rockets. They farm IRIS-T and any other emplacement SAMS.
But please don’t pretend you currently dont have the best SAM in the game and likely after the BUK/SAMP-T second or joint 1st best SAM in the game.
If you time it right, the IRIS-T has 0 chance against a Ka-52, Vikhrs are in the game for a long time and I don’t think I have ever seen someone complain about them underperforming. There is 0 reason to bring anything else, they have proxy fuse, they are fast, direct, beam riding and you can launch as many as you want if you launch them in 5 seconds of launching the first one.
Also a nice note:, Ka-50/52 have broken tail model, if you hit it wrong enough, you can cut it’s tail off and it’s tail electronics stay undamaged and floating behind it
Also also, Cutting it’s tail might say you killed it but it can still repair and kill you
I will simply skip the Mi-28NM, or I’d be here for a long time, ts is broken
What’s the problem? I have 2 deaths from iris-t in ~75 spawns on typhoon in this patch. I died from an strela more often than from iris-t (4 times). Turn on auto-flare and you are almost invulnerable.
I’m not saying that iris-t is weak, but Typhoon still ± easily kills any spaa with brims, while the probability of dying from them is minimal, as long as you don’t make a mistake. Although it is very vulnerable to enemy planes while doing so.
You are already at close range, the IRIS-T system in question has either just spawned or has been shooting at something else…Otherwise you would be forced to dodge 10 missiles before you get into Brimstone release range.
Yes Strela and even 2S38 are very dangerous for a Typhoon on a Brimstone run.
That’s an option but there are other SAMs a Pantisr will pluck you stright out of the sky while flying straight and level. New BUK and other SAMs will make that tactic near impossible too.
When I get back from work will share the clip I have of an IRIS-T spamming missiles at me while I hug the ground, You run out of space to dodge and was hit by a missile.
It’s about having the payload to do so, many consider Brimstone strong because of the number an aircraft can carry. These missile were also being used against a jet that has lots of chaff and flares. Excellent flight performance and an advanced MAW system.
The fact a Single IRIS-T battery has 16 missiles in itself is problematic
I would rather see a 8 missiles and a higher level of lethality at least aircraft could avoid it. However that means you would die to ordinance.
Then why are we giving another, even more powerful SAM system to the worst audience possible? IRIS-T isn’t bad, in it’s current state it isn’t amazing either. It’s enough’ish. Fix all bugs, not even asking about performance boosts, which are supposed to be there, but bugs and well yea. And remove magic shields from helis, even though it shouldn’t work anyway, it’s a double whammy on unrealistic garbage. First is IRIS-T not switching to DL when being actively jammed. Second is jammers just acting as a sphere of undying. (Arguably third is that those jammers are actually functional)
It doesn’t seem like it though. It’s still full of bugs/half functional and compared to new systems kinda looks pathetic. (not as pathetic as CLAWS or chinese thing though, still). I was just playing it and rockets are gaining speed sooooooooo slow. It takes forever for them to figure out a path/loft for a target, they still go out of control quite frequently, still perform worse against munition than ARHs for some reason. Radar is just garbage IMHO, like I’m not sure about the radar, but is it as bad irl too? I mean it would have hard time against any maneuvering target, let alone munitions coming by so I don’t think so… Their radar code is just the worst spagetti clot imaginable. Scaffolding under scaffolding with a scaffolding glued to the side with litle gnomes doing card tricks on it and if they stop - the whole scaffolding explodes violently.
