Also since Gaijin values the marketplace price balance so much I’d like to argue that once in a year trickle of these vehicles won’t disturb the market prices, we already have a 3x a year trickle of these vehicles via the lootboxes.
It can be argued it takes the same effort but more concentrated than the lootboxes with vehicles.
I could grind a year SL and dump it all into the next lootbox and mathematically I am sure to get some random event vehicle that I could sell on the market. On top of it I get a myriad of boosters and wages that can boost my SL/RP.
On the other hand, I could grind for a specific one through the once in a year event and keep it to myself without putting it for sale on the market. So RELIC should definitely make the vehicles instant activation on the account and not available for the market.
This makes everyone happy, the whales keep buying off of the marketplace, people who REALLY wanna play that one vehicle finally get to do so, and marketplace price stay stable.
It looks like a win-win for everyone on paper. And I wish to highlight again, something Gaijin can confirm for themselves through internal statistics, that the people who are willing to go on a long grind for a vehicle, are not the same people who would ever dish out money on the marketplace.
On a final note, I think FOMO, is a horrible practice, you made a game, you made content, and you don’t want people to have a fair opportunity to experience it ??? if they think that is what keeps people playing they might are clearly in the wrong, with their own latest stats published, it is a fresh gamemode like Nuclear Thunder that keeps people and brings people back, not FOMO.
So it is fair to say that any worries about marketplace stability are dismantled, and so is the FOMO practice.
RELIC event, I believe, would increase player retention and Gaijin would definitely see more players play during it.
