Even in the previous years, its performance was rather questionable even against drones.
With the recent escalation it is now kinda obvious how useless western SAMs are.
Those “interception reports” are a joke at best.
Like, those same reports claimed multiple interceptions of hypersonics as well as dozens of iskanders by patriots, meanwhile even iranian ballistic missiles and drones prove to be impossible targets for them.
Even funnier is the fact that irl patriots basically act as a fancy MLRS most of the time, considering the PAC-3 failure rate, which ends with them hitting their own cities.

IRIS-T SL is regarded to have a 90% interception rate against targets it is employed against.
This is includes drones, both attack and recon, cruise missiles the KH 101 and Kaliber and KH-59/69.
It is not designed to intercept ballistic missiles the IRIS-T SLX will be the chosen platform for that
PAC 3 Patriot has performed well when they have had the missiles but they are just saturated by Iskander, S-400 missiles and drones makes deconflicting targets more complicated especially when the US is no longer flying EAWACS aircraft to help DL the missiles.
I would also add Russian AD systems have hardly performed great, the S-400 has been destroyed by threats it was designed to deal with Stormshadow and Scalp. ATACMS has wreaked havoc and modifying Neptune and S-300 missiles for ground attack has given some success. Pantsir is another example failing to hit cruisemissiles and showering the target they are protecting with 30mms.
It has been a real lesson to everyone, the effectiveness and frequency of ballistic missile strikes has lead to multiple systems being upgraded ASTER, IRIS-T and the Chinese systems that performed poorly against Iranian missile strikes.
Sorry, but made up Iris-T performance doesn’t interest me.
If they were that good, multiple PAC-3/flamingo and other military storage sites wouldn’t have been blown up in the recent weeks.
Europes shadow fleet wouldn’t have been so easily sunk in the Black sea either.
Even lone geran-4/5’s have been seen flying freely, without any issues.
Over all, Iris-t’s turned out to be a massive failure, much like all the other european SAM systems(SAMP/T has achieved pretty much nothing, while quickly running out of interceptors. NASAMS was mostly useless. The most interesting thing it has done is its AMRAAM missing a kh-101 and striking a hospital instead).
Patriots are another story.
After a few successful interceptions of jets, they’ve somewhat become useless. Mostly acting as MLRS against their own cities.
Then a lot of them were lost during 2024-2025.
Mainly due to iskanders, since US AD is completely incapable of intercepting ballistics(that includes the THAAD). Which left only a few of them(the most recent destruction of these was in march, when a group of lancets wiped out a patriot battery).
And now it turns out that they cant even produce the systems, nor the interceptors in even the minimally viable amounts. Which is why Iran wiped out western military bases in a matter of 3 months.
Kinda hilarious to slander the pantsir, when they still down hundreds of drones almost daily.
Meanwhile Nato doesn’t even have any good SHORAD systems.
The closest thing is the skyranger, but its insane price and lackluster range still make it awful, compared to the pantsir.
Btw, the S-400 “strikes” claims is just a nice cover up of PAC-3’S/ expired S-300 missiles plunging into civies, after failing to intercept russian munitions.
Yes, S-400 missiles can be used for ground attack, but with the sheer amount of proper anti-ground munitions available, that it is simply not needed.
Yes interceptors are expensive and hard to produce, that does not the away the efficacy. IRIS-T SL is probably the best short to medium range SAM in the world. The combination of Radar and IIR seeker is incredibly deadly.
Patriot stopped being good when they ran out of missiles, they ran out of decoy Radars and well they became hunted. Patriot system is not a bad system and PAC 3 has performed well.
Pantsir has been fine, not the world beater that War Thunder makes player believe. Of course the cost for Skyranger will be more, it is being sold by a private company to the military. It’s like complaining an F-35 is expensive.
The other nation does not have S-400s that is only the other nation and there are reports they are export versions they are using as ground attack. The same with the Moskva was using it’s compliment of S-300 to attack Odessa with.
Now the interceptors are too valuable to just give away the US needs to build more, Russia needs more, Europe need more and Israel need more. With new drones and saturation attacks everyone needs more interceptors.

PAC-3’s and PAC-2’s fail mid-air on the regular.
Which is even funnier considering the BS claims about hypersonic/iskander intercetpion rates.
Like, in August they claimed 8 iskanders as “intercepted”, while crying about a lack of missiles.
While in the ME, it was shown that even launching 3 PAC-3’s against single, much more simple iranian missiles wasn’t guaranteed to intercept it.
Well, irl Iris-T, skyranger, and samp/t performance leaves a lot to be desired as well.
But the main cries about the pantsir in the game stem from Nato countries not developing proper SHORAD systems.
And despite reddit copium, the pantsir performs overall well in that role.
Again, the other nation had patriots and old S-300’s.
They simply claimed that it “was an S-400” missile, in order to cover up their own friendly fire.
That is true.
It is simply easier to produce strike munitions, than interceptors.
And no country can realistically cover all of its territory with AD.
Not to mention that cheap drones can overwhelm pretty much anything.
