Both seeker heads are very similar, saying its a PL5 idk who made that image is just beyond delusion,LD8 with the PL10 i had never seen it,theres one other missile with similar seeker head and its the PL11A

Still doubt its it

“similar seeker” not that its the same seeker, the thing is kind wonkly made

also the LD-8 (not LD-8A as thats more similar but not completely to the PL-15) is a direct derivative from the PL-10 afaik.

and ngl that “new missile” gives me R-73 seeker vibes ngl

J-16AESA
Reported to be J-16 AESA antenna

this is ancient and not confirmed afaik

It gives me more 9X tbh, gets pointy like it

it can, since IR is a different band from visible light, and as I discussed in PL-11AE topic, this could be some kind of rare earth ceramics material as replacement of currently used sapphire, not old generation of magnesium fluoride used in missiles like PL-8B. or it can just be the photo not clear enough and make the seeker blurry.
it’s possibly a newer version(PL-10A?), with smaller sensor and less drag, and possibly other improvement.

That image comes from here and it has nothing to do with the J-16 apart from some baseless claims

China doesn’t want you to know this but this is how the J-15 actually flies.

Are all the Chinese Flankers capable of carrying wingtip ECM pods?

I know all the Russian Flankers can, but did the Chinese keep this on their domestic Flankers?

afaik, no

at best external pods on the normal pylons, even then i am unsure, this prolly stems from them having dedicated “EW” flankers

Only modern Chinese built flanker with wigtip pods are the J-16D
J-15DT
J-15DH

J-11 and J-11A most likely still can carry Gardenia pods (maybe even Sorbtsya but it was never exported)

Should the J-11B or J-15T have a better HMD like J-10C?

I’ve been wanting to try them in sim but I don’t wanna use the boring orange circle.

no
it still has the old sensors around the HUD for the HMS

It woes me that this is an actual, acceptable reason and not just a joke.

They shouldve just used the same J10C one but technical compatibility is only valid for the money bringers…for china they cant even get pilot models right…idk what miracles made they do the Z10ME right
