If the primary source doesn’t explicitly state something then it technically isn’t a primary source as you have to make estimates and guesses from the given numbers to get to the stat you want to know about (at least in my opinion). It could likely still be used if several other secondary sources line up with the estimates for example. But i don’t make these decisions and this is just how i have personally understood it to work.
I also know they are not happy about using player made calculations and assumptions as a basis for change.
Alright, I will try to dumb it down. We provide thousands of sources, which all say pretty much the same that almost all stats are incorrect right now in-game. Yet reporting managers refuse to acknowledge that and pull up their own stats to nerf NATO equipment. They give absolutely zero sources, nothing, and instantly close all reports. Is it clear now?
I mean that the primary source states time to target and range but not the speed.
It’s still a primary source. For a Tank for example the primary source doesn’t need to include the velocity of a projectile if it includes the exact penetration data and the speed is known via different sources, right?
So in this case we know the range, time to target and have secondary sources for the speed. They could just see if it matches up.
What I don’t get is how they are so stubborn. They have chosen the same speed for the missile although it has a stronger and bigger rocket engine and is supposed to have 3 times the range.
They assumed a speed that makes the ingame missile incapable of even reaching half it’s effective range and call it a day?..
There is not really any point in arguing though. We can only hope that there are some people on the Dev team capable of logical thought and common sense.
A missile that falls out of the sky at less than 30km, doesn’t strike me as having an “effective” range of 40km vs maneuvering targets…
Necro isn’t doing this, he is actively helping to get sources. You are attacking him for no reason. Also “thousands” of sources is a gross overmispresentation. It’s often the same source cited in other sites and some of the sources are relly sketchy as well. We only got a couple of decent ones at most.
i mean the SLM is a prime example where they are doing it right now the fact it cant even go 40 km ( or even engage a target coming in from 40km that isnt going mach2 ) is proof of that
i hope in the end 2 snd techmod is having a look at our 4 sources
But you know the problem is more complicated, was the missile launched when the target was 30km away? Or did it hit the target when it reached 30km distance. It’s all pretty vague
Yes I know. But then again, there is a lot of info about the speed of the drones used. There could be 2 different ones. Even the faster one gives a travel distance of 27km due to reaching a height of 12km.
So even if the Drone was flying at max speed towards the Iris-T SLM it would be faster than it is right now ingame.
Coupled that ingame it does not loft to 12km… If the targett was that close then why does it not climb that high ingame? Because it can’t… It runs out of energy
As i have previously said about the “time to target” source: it doesn’t really say anything at all and can give a ridiculous range of numbers as a result for the speed depending on what assumptions you make about the target and it’s movement.
The secondary sources should in my opinion be accepted though, hopefully they are once Gunjob has taken a look at them.
Which could possibly be reasonable if for example the only improvement the makers aimed for was range (so a motor with longer burn time but less thrust for example).
Doesn’t necessarily have to do with max speed though, it could be to short burn time of the engine, it could be to much drag or to much speed lost in turns etc. there are many factors that could be the reason for the inadequate range. The range reports have also to my knowledge been accepted as well.
Yeah it’s frustrating honestly. I hoped for SLM to have at least similar range as Pantsir. Plus the missile at the end of the day is an IR missile which can be flared fairly easily from my testing.
