I’ve never heard of optical MAWS, 3 types I know of are radar, IR, and UV.
Time for some ult history skins in the marketplace East Japan 89

I feel like its just a mistake, pretty sure its UV with 240-280nm wavelength
That’s what I thought as well… but are different kinds of ir maws modelled in game? Is it worth reporting?
If it would be a different jet, with differen loadout it would be completely ok, but untill it’s copy+past+add wester features, it doesn’t really look fair.
Here’s export brochure for su-30mki type fighters
Max speed looks like it should go down to 1350 kph on deck, rn it can go around 1500 kph on the deck
Judging by those documents it should have 12500 kts on it’s AL-31FP engines, also the Su-27 should have the same amount on it’s AL-31F engines, which are the same as the FP, but without thrust vectoring. And by all that Su-27SM should receive it’s 13500kts on each engine
That’s bench thrust, you’re confusing installed vs uninstalled thrust.
Here is the engine chart for al31f. As you can see installed thrust is lower than the rated bench thrust

I see in the image there is written it’s (стенд) uninstalled thrust, which is judging by the image, a little bit more then 12k
has nothing to do with allies or politics but ok
Okay but its not about russia and japan, its about russia and malaysia. And considering they exported the su-30 in the first place, its not like they’re going to be much less friendly then say the US and sweden.
I know its Russia and Malaysia, but in which country tech tree will be the Su-30MKM? And after all that, if one country can have Su-30, F-15, F-16, JAC-39 and F-18 soon, where is the point of Russian, American, Sweden tech trees? Every nations should have unique weapons and vehicle. I love WT and i want it to be better, not doing clones in other nations that better than original.
So if russia were to get an F/A-18 through some subtree somehow, you’d be opposed to it getting 120C-5s? Or would you support the MKM having 77-1s if only malaysia was in china?
Aircraft getting compatable armaments is the norm in warthunder, there’s no reason russian vehicles should be any different.
I do agree japan has a very enviable lineup of vehicles it can get from other nations, but its not the only country with so, even if it is arguably going to the be strongest case of it in the future.
the problem isn’t even about which nation or which tech tree Su-30 will be, the real problem is what weapons he will get, Russia/USSR players will not be happy that other nation took best thing they got.
If Russia get an F/A-18 i will be opposed to it getting 120C-5s, because it will be not fair to America players, if MKM with R-77-1 coming to China i will be opposed too, because it will be not fair to Russia/USSR players. This isn’t about which nation it will be added.
I agree that aircraft getting compatable armaments is the norm, but it cant be the best weapon of other nation.
right, if gaijin added the multiple plane missing from top tier russia. we would not have this problem now.
i dont really care about r77-1, when i really care is when the russia only got 1 plane that have r77-1, nothing else.
take exemple japan: yes its weak, lets add some planes.
ruined everything for adding kh38mt and r77-1, now russian got nothing
now its the perfect time to add mig29/35 to make russia tree a bit more none copy slop
“Fair”? Define “fair” in terms of a gameplay. Does it mean we need to remove all AGM-65 carriers, or at least weapons, from tech trees that are not American, because that was pretty much the cornerstone of American CAS for most of its existence in the game? Should we remove Leopard 2s from Swedish TT because their Leos are better than German, and Leopard 2 is a German creation, thus making it “unfair” for German players?
Do you see the point? It is extremely funny to see “it is not fair to country A because the B system is more advanced in most (if not all) metrics than the systems from country C” coming from a playerbase whoose missiles were so brainrot devs had to pull multi-vehicle SAMs to counter them. And even then, Kh-38ML still handholds Su-30SM players with the fact that it can be just dumped on the spawn right from the airfield every 30 seconds.
I am not defending the addition of Kh-38MTs in any form to any country as those missiles are arguably the most made-up yet broken weapons in the game. But I find statements “it is not fair to us because it was OUR’s and ONLY OUR’s thing we could exploit!1!1!!1” quite hypocritical and insane double standards which, undoubtfuly, Gaijin likes to apply here and there.
PS: speaking of AIM-120C-5, there should be a nation candidate for Soviet TT to actually provide such an aircraft. And so far I haven’t seen any feasible ones.
Well, but we’re specifically talking about aviation, and here, the USSR only has one R-77-1 aircraft and only two Kh-38MT aircraft, and it’s not right to take something unique from one nation and give it to the opposite nation. (it doesn’t even matter which nation to which nation).
The best solution at the moment would be to add missiles that are similar to the X-38MT but made by Western countries or even Japan itself.
From a practical point of view, the Kh-38MT missiles have never been sold to other countries and could not appear in either Malaysia or Japan army.
Not like we have any proof of russia using the Kh-38MT either.
To anyone who says the Kh-38 is fair I show them this video

I’m convinced that for these particular Russian mains, if they received some sort of NATO vehicle with powerful ASMs instead, they wouldn’t be crowing about uniqueness lol
